Brentford Penguins are a unique football club. The squad are all children with Downs Syndrome. Founded in 2017 by former professional footballer Allan Cockram, the Penguins meet every Sunday in Gunnersbury Park in West London to practice and have fun. An exceptional community of parents and children (*aged from 5-25) the club ranks have swelled to over 50 DS members. As a group they are exceptional, not for their difficulites but for their friendliness, fun and affection to everyone. Working with this extraordinary team of people is both inspiring and compelling. My aim (in the first of a series) is a snapshot of some of the squad (in a large size to match the personalities) to capture the collective support for each other - with football chanting and group hugs - in a deeper way than a regular team lineup.
