Dan Booth - I Always Dream We Draw
Acrylic and oil on canvas 76 x 76 x 3.5 cm 2025 Working from the found, observed, remembered and imagined, I create impressionistic figurative images through drawing, print, collage, mixed-media and painting. Narrative, place, alienation, fatherhood, masculinity and class dynamics are explored - drawing on a dialogue with art history and autobiography. My work depicts physical and social infrastructure, including civic, public and communal spaces, exploring the disparity between the aspirations and realities of our built environment, the promise and degradation of public spaces and the complexities of human discourse. Recurring images of football hooliganism, industrial landscapes, civic structures, and family mix to reflect and refract contemporary social, political and psychological spaces.
