Painted in response to England's Euro 2020 Final loss to Italy. Drawing parallels between the disappointment experienced through the lens of being a fan of our national team and the wider undercurrents of addiction; losing not only our bets but our sense of pride, our hope and our identity. My friend Danny is presented as an icon of the fanbase during England's international campaigns; an ordinary man briefly elevated to something universal.
