This self-portrait captures a moment of instinctive freedom. Taken during rehearsals with English National Opera, I encountered a full grass football pitch for the first time. Growing up playing football on hard, stony grounds in Hong Kong, I had never attempted a diving header. This leap is both playful and symbolic; an expression of joy, memory, and the body reclaiming football as passion, freedom, creative and joy.
