Hahnemuhle museum etching 161 x 111 x 3.5 cm 2025 Anne Lydiat is a British artist whose multidisciplinary practice explores themes of absence, memory, language and transformation. Working across sculpture, photography, installation and text, her concept-driven artworks often examine ideas of loss, silence and the passage of time. Since becoming the first woman appointed as a Henry Moore Fellow in the 1980s, Lydiat has developed an internationally recognised practice shaped by feminist perspectives, maritime histories and environmental concerns. More recent works draw on her experiences living aboard a vessel on the River Thames and leading Arctic expeditions, using fragile and evolving materials to reflect on climate change, impermanence and humanity’s relationship with the natural world.
